Company Profile

The Rodou family opened their first dairy in 1968, in Chidira, on the island of Lesvos. In 1997 the business was handed down to the second generation under a new title, D. Rodou Brothers, trading under the name LESVIGAL.

Committed to ongoing improvement in product quality and customer satisfaction and determined to stay abreast of the latest advances in technology, LESVIGAL set about constructing its own state-of-the-art dairy at Vatousa on Lesvos. The new facilities were opened in 2008, with an initial daily capacity of 70 tons of milk, and plans to increase capacity in future.

The new premises also feature an ultra-modern analysis laboratory, allowing all forms of control (microbiological and chemical) of fresh milk and intermediate and final products. This new facility guarantees consistent quality and purity of all the company’s products.

The LESVIGAL facility is the only one in the whole prefecture of Lesvos which has its own self-inspection code from the Greek Milk and Meat Agency.
LESVIGAL is the largest dairy company in the Aegean, and one of the ten largest producers in Greece of cheeses made from sheep and goats’ milk. The company is continually engaged in the planning and development of innovative products, as well as attractive new packaging concepts designed for maximum consumer convenience.
